NAMED AFTER THE NOTORIOUS
BUNCH OF BLAGGARDS THE BRITISH GOVERNMENT SENT INTO IRELAND TO STOP THE IRISH
FROM TRYING TO END OVER 700 YEARS OF OCCUPATION. THE TANS SONGS ARE ANTI
IMPERIALISM, ANTI RACISM ETC. NO COUNTRY HAS A RIGHT TO COLONISE ANOTHER. This
had been a project idea by 2 mates and ex band mates, Rich Lard and Ardcore Andy
had played together in 2 bands Dogshit Sandwich and D'Corner Bois. They agreed
to do a recording project under the title of The Potato Skins, was meant to be a
piss take Oi project like Hardskin only with songs about Irish History. They
rehearsed in 2007/2008 along with Josh who was the drummer in Andy's band
'District 13'. The rehearsals went well then things broke down as the other two
were 2 busy with their band. So, in late 2008, Rich was approached by Guitarist
Elliot Nixon (The ginger one out of D' Corner Bois) And Oldbury's infamous shelf
stacking connoisseur, Alex Lowe (Ram-Man, D' Corner Bois etc) Not too long after
that, rehearsals commenced at 'The House Of Lard' where they blasted out the
three songs which 2 appear on a split green vinyl 7'' limited to 1000 and the
other is released on Angry Scenes Records 'Angry Scenes 4 compilation which is a
tribute to Trogg the late/great Contempt bassist with proceeds going to cancer
charity.
